It took him a whole minute to realize this was a human being. “Bella!” he cried, throwing up his hands in amazement at his own deductive brilliance.

This in fact sounds very similar to the state some of my friends were in at the end of my 18th birthday party - and the state I hope to be in at the end of my leaver's ball tomorrow night.

Ah, this is what I get for letting work rule my life...I fall behind.

I may have missed many jokes, but it was quite enjoyable nontheless. ;-)

But, I am concerned that Voldemort has a drinking problem. Has he seen someone about that?

When I was writing the story, I made sure to mention the cake. I though, "I promised piiak cake, and gosh darn it, I must deliver." Mmmmm, cake.

Voldemort usually abstains from alcohol, but on special occasions he likes to let a little loose. Besides, he's paying for it.

Well, he already uses them to guard his Horcruxes, so why not as waiters and caterers? It's an excellent use of resources.
