I hope everyone who celebrates it had an excellent Christmas, and that everyone else had a fabulous day regardless! I am back in Denmark, it is fabulous to be doing nothing and not feeling guilty about it, and holy hell it is freezing here. Wait, Denmark isn't cold? It's way north, like Canada. And just south of Norway and Sweden. Or is it the Gulf Stream moving?

Nope, not normally, at least not to the degree that you'd expect. People don't realize that pretty much all of coastal Europe west of Germany is tempered by the Gulf stream and probably some other things I don't know enough about climate to understand, but the end result is that most places have maybe a 40 degree Fahrenheit range between summer and winter. So in Denmark, it's generally in the 70s tops in the summer, but only in the 30s in the winter. Meanwhile in many places in the US, like the east coast, we have more like a 70 or 80 degree range. Long story short, yeah, people tend to mistakenly assume that Denmark is a super cold country, but it's really usually more like Britain. Consistently freezing temperatures and two feet of snow is not normal here.

Temperatures are fucked all over the world and yet somehow people still deny global warming, it is a baffling mystery to me.

YOU SHOULD GET A DS AND PLAY THESE GAMES, THEY ARE THE BESTEST EVER. If you do not have a deep and abiding need for the 3DS that comes out in the spring, then I suggest getting the old Lite model, not the DSi, because that way you can play GBA games on it and you can play the first two Golden Sun games! 8D Also the old model is cheaper, which is always a plus.

So I just wanted to thank you for the truffles! They were amazing and delicious and very pretty. I meant to thank you earlier but Stuff Went Down, and, well, you know how it is. But I did get them and I did enjoy them! Thank you!

Also, the new Golden Sun. I have not played it yet. But I have had people tell me things and man. I will leave it at that. (Also also, I have mixed feelings on the fandom getting a second win. On the one hand, yay! On the other, my friend and I might actually have to write our terrible, fully plotted reincarnation-zombie-space AU. Where Alex saves the universe.)

omg play it soooooon, you will love it. About ten minutes after making this post I met up with Briggs and learned that Matthew does in fact have a mother, and I am MOST BAFFLED by who it is because fandom insisted that pairing made no sense. FANDOM IS ALWAYS RIGHT. (Actually fandom is pretty much never right in these things, I think it is pretty much a rule that game producers always go with the least plausible pairings for "10+ years in the future" sequels just to fuck around with their fans. LULU AND WAKKA IS A BAD IDEA, GUYS, OKAY? THAT IS JUST MADE OF AWKWARD ( ... )

SUCH A TEASE. I am at the final boss and it is absurdly difficult in comparison to how rather disappointingly easy the rest of the game has been. Where are my superlong dungeons? Why have there only been like 6 bosses in the whole thing? How is this game so short? I really really really hope this is the first part of a two-part game, because I still haven't been to the other continents! I haven't been to Kalay or Imil to see Ivan and Jenna and Mia! Everyone is talking about Piers but he keeps eluding me! And nobody will tell me a damn thing about Felix or Sheba! D8

This game has done a delightful job in emulating the older ones and hitting the nostalgia button with visiting places that are new but nevertheless connected to places in the old games (Champa!). But thus far it feels like half a storyline, and there haven't been nearly enough references or cameos of our favorite old crew.

When I beat it I am going to go and read all the posts you made about it last month when I wasn't allowing myself to look!
