Trip To The UK: Part 2

May 13, 2008 20:12

Our first day! We made it to London Heathrow about an hour late, thanks to an hour spent on the other side of the pond, fixing a broken airplane seat. After an interminably cramped flight, bad food, and mediocre (if at all working) in-flight entertainment, we stumbled, blinking, into the light of a British morning. (One of the nice things about ( Read more... )

i just quickly stumbled onto your journal for the first time since i went travelling around all the balkan countries and i don't know what your plans are, but if you happen to be in dublin between the 20th and 23rd of may, i will be too. and that will be crazy coincidence.

OMG! That's crazy. We're actually leaving on the 19th, in the afternoon! Talk about a changing of the guard!

BTW, if you want to go to an overpriced 'cafe' with the most amazingly elaborate French decor EVER, go to Cafe En Seine, which was at 39 Dawson St.

So you ARE actually traveling! I didn't know if you were just writing that travel blog for the hell of it, or if you were actually out there. How's it going? Where did you go so far??

well, all the changing of the guards i've seen involve the guards actually meeting each other, so....

ha, i can barely afford cheap polish buffets in the working class part of dublin. besides, i got my fill of opulent cafe decadence in vienna (and in the bratislava chocolate cafes).

well, the best part about that travel blog is that it's funnier if you've actually been to the places i'm talking about, if you've read about the history and culture of these places. (i've got a bunch written in my journal that i'll eventually type up for the blog)

i went to: czech republic, austria, slovenia, croatia, montenegro, albania, macedonia, serbia (briefly), bosnia, hungary, slovakia, and now i'm in ireland.
