I don't think I posted here yesterday. I woke up at four, had cereal and my shower, fed the bb, helped with Maddy and Zach, then tried to bring Zach to day care as a time test. As I posted to Facebook: This is a test. This is only a test. Had it been an actual work day, I would have been late ( Read more... )

A lot of times I will joke that you can tell my dad is a computer engineer. ;)

I usually try to figure out the timing of things and factor in wiggle room for disaster days, which inevitably happens. I think splitting up the kids' drop off between us will work out the best. Maybe this is what people mean by zone defense, too. :D

You must always factor in wiggle room. Saves lots of frustration and lateness. ;)

Ugh. Those timing things are tricky. I have a hard time getting myself out of the house most days, let alone with kids! You seem to know just what to do. Good luck getting it all under control!

Jason and I are both conscientious about time. I think the Asian Time gene skipped me and headed straight over to Maddy. lol. She wanders around, looks at the TV, looks at some books, kisses her brothers, that kind of thing. We constantly remind her to stay on track so they can leave on time. I think that's why she said she wanted to stay home from school a couple of times. if she's home, there's no rush.

All the 5-year-olds I work with at camp are like that. It just be the age. It's like they don't even know they're names sometimes!

This behavior led Jason to ask me if she has ADHD. Nope, she's just five. If she was acting this way when she's nine or ten, at school as well as home, then maybe you could make a case for it. She's just a little more physical than we are. Jason likes TV and video games, I'm all about books and internet. She likes TV, cartoons and running around. So she really is a mix of us both. :)
