I'm still re-reading, but this one occurred to me:

What if Ginny rejected Remus the first time he came to her in Points of Authority?

hoo boy. For something like that to happen in that story, it means that her mind can't have shattered as badly as it did in that twisted little ceremony. Which also means that she would be keeping silent while she plotted an escape strategy and was stringing Draco along until she figured it out. If she rejected Remus, she would have had to speak, and that meant that they would have come up with a plan to escape Death Eater control together. And at some point, he would have had to admit what Bella made him do. Ginny may or may not forgive him for it, but easily most of the smut would never have happened. She wouldn't willingly sleep with him, because he's still a teacher figure in her mind.
