Ah, Avatar. You are done now, and all the tweeners are sure that the fandom is dead. This will leave the adults to explore the fallout from the finale, hopefully without shipping wank. :) I really liked the ending, tho I'm sure there are plenty more questions that will need to be answered in fanfic. I'll prolly have to catch it once or twice more ( Read more... )

I'm going to miss Avatar a lot...much more than my age dictates I should.

It's a kids show that didn't pull too many punches, so adults could still relate. And technically, it's more of a YA show than a kids show, if only because the main characters are all teens. So we can *definitely* relate. ;)

I like the subtext in it. I think that's what really appeals to the fanficcers in us.

Younger spawn denies that fandom is over.

She'll be glad to tell you about it endlessly at the con if you like....

yay. Tho your tweener makes sense and is therefore *not* average. :) Most of the LJ comms have typo-riddled messages proclaiming that the fandom will die out now. I just roll my eyes and ignore it, because fandoms only die if the fans let it.

I'm not sure if we'll be at the con this year. We haven't gotten the kibosh on travel from my OB, but I definitely can't take days off. If we go, it'll be a daytripping kind of thing. That will have to be left up to how I feel in the days leading up to the con.

I was wondering about that (the traveling to Otakon).

If you get there, look us up. The Spouse is my liege this year at OSS.

Definitely. Jay doesn't have a home this year, so he may be shunted your way if we go. :)
