Lots of little pieces do not necessarily make a huge whole.

Today's my first guitar lesson. Would you believe I'm terrified? When was the last time I tried learning something new in a formal setting like this? At least ten years. And god that makes me feel old.

I joined Weight Watchers last Friday. Two reasons. Seeing phenomenal success with WW at the QM from spikesgurl and hollydb, and seeing candid shots of me from ( Read more... )

Good for you on joining WW and working out. I fight the weight/workout battle daily. Try lifting weights. What you do on the elliptical lasts as long as you are doing it. What you do with weights helps you to burn calories all day long.

I've had great luck mixing it up, also. Sometimes elliptical, sometimes step aerobics, sometimes swimming. Cross training makes for more efficient exercise.

We have a weight machine in the garage that we got a year ago when we moved away from our gym, but I've never learned how to use it. My plan is once I'm accustomed to having the elliptical in my schedule, I'll adjust everything to accommodate toning with the weights, too. At this point, I'm more interested in *any* exercise, lol.

Once again your life seems to have a lot of emotions packed into a very small space. Go and enjoy the sun - wish we had some of that here!

WW did wonders for me (before I got pregnant and started eating like a nauseated horse) and is still doing wonders for Mr Wol who has lost 2 stone and a half since starting at the beginning of the summer. Looks good too. Good luck with it!

I did Slimming World when I was in the UK after Alex was born, and did really well with it. I lose over 3 stone there, but then we moved back and it all crept back on. I really need the organized program in order to succeed. Structure is my friend. :)

I think we really do. And we're going to fly to LA so that we have even more time, and not wasting 12 hours driving. I'm not sure what I'll do with him all to myself for two days...oh wait, yes I do! ;)

Good luck with the guitar lessons. I envy you, I think it would be great to learn to play the guitar, although I do understand how it can be hard going back into a formal lesson environment after so long.

My new job finally got me a training schedule and I'm working this Saturday during the day. I'm hoping that is an omen and that my regular schedule will be Saturday daytime not night cause then I can go to the concert too. I mean it's like a mile from where I live. That's practically across the street in L.A.

I'd love to meet her too. I do know I have the next day off, I told them I couldn't work that day because of the AIDS walk I'm doing with ghostgirl13, so we'll see what happens. I let you know once I know more.

*hugs to Craig*

He and my hubby need to talk cause mine is doing the same thing. Case in point? Today he was scheduled to go to a surgery about a 2 hours drive away. The case was originally scheduled for 1. It got pushed back till 5. He drove all the way there and found out the case got cancelled. Grrr....

The only good thing was that he didn't bother to go to the office today and hung out at home so we got to go to lunch together.

That's definitely a good thing. Craig is having a short day tomorrow because they're having a math night at Alicia's school, which is good because I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.

The things our men go through...
