With his eyes closed, it was impossible to deny the sounds pulsing through his body,

Pulsing through his body? Oooh, is this an interesting twist for Spike, Buffy and Schmoo, or am I reading into this wrong?

I could see how you'd think that, but no, it was just meant to be the sounds around him reverberating in his body. Being waves and all.
