I don't think you would have a problem with footwear. Unless you're planning to go to a nightclub (or fancy restaurant), they may have a dress code. But even still, it's summer and people wear sandals all the time. Maybe bring a pair of fancier type sandals? Or something that you can pass as slightly fancier shoes?

Churches won't restrict you because of your footwear. If anything they may want your shoulders covered, but I've found that really only with Catholic churches and the Vatican.

Completely agree. I have that same pair of Keens except black and have worn them all over the world.

As for Sweden I wouldn't recommend you to stay all the time out of big cities. True, the nature in Sweden in summer is wonderful, but you can stop any place if you travel by car and take your time there. But Stockholm itself requires at least 2-3 full days to visit the city. It is really beautiful, one of most beautiful capitals in the world as I've heard. So don't waste your time in the countryside, because then you'll really feel pity for not having enough time/strength to enjoy Sthlm. As for Gothenburg it is very nice too. Actually many people (including myself) find it much better than Sthlm, but it is just a question of taste. But I would recommend you to have at least 2 days for Gtb, too. Both cities are very inspiring and have a lot of attraction and activities. Enjoy your stay in Sweden ( ... )
