Honestly, it depends on what you both like to do...

The other thing you might consider is splitting up at times, like if you want to hit a club in Berlin and he wants to see a play or if he wants to do a pub crawl and you wants to see a museum.

Then you can meet up for dinner and breakfast and share.

There are lots of the obvious touristy things which I'm sure people of all ages enjoy, obvious ones are going up the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, etc. etc. It's not too hard to find something in London or Paris because they are both such huge cities with lots to offer ( ... )

Edinburgh might be a good choice for both of you, if you're not already burned out on large cities. It has a ton of history but a fun, modern vibe as well. Like the first comment says, it depends on your interests.

My father loves the Scottish Highlands: check out towns like Oban, Fort William and Tobermorey. There's loads of outdoor activities (walking, canoeing, pony-trekking) in these areas which you might enjoy together.

London has pretty much everything you can think of! You can just walk around looking at the sights and markets, or you can visit the many Museums and Galleries. The nightlife is awesome - shows, theatre, pubs, clubs, live music...
