Just saw a very interesting program on HIV/AIDS from a global perspective on PBS's "Frontline" that featured Bono and took a closer look at Dubya's and the UN's [lacking] help programs overseas, among other things.

I already saw part one on PBS. Very fascinating! And very depressing...

Have you ever read Randy Shilts And the Band Played On? It's one of the best non-fiction books I've ever read!

Yes, the program is definitely both but important that it's put out there. I'm still amazed at the lack of international news in the media here - but what's new. I often feel like I live on the moon. Thank the gods that there's at least PBS and NPR... :P I think I read the book in German long ago and I know I've seen the movie version.
