Characters: Tony Stark, Jarvis, Nathan Stark, Zoe Carter, Jack Carter, S.A.R.A.H
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Don't own, and I make no profit from this except that happy inner-self kind.
Warnings: The first half was written for a fifteen minute prompt challenge (for the word Fragment), a friend demanded more and that is how the complete part came to be. My tech knowledge is only -slightly- better than my math, which is abysmal at best! so most of this is "science" and not Science.
Summary: Crossover with Ironman (movie), A tale about two cities.. or more specifically two artificially intelligent homes located in separate cities and their romance with one another.
Fragment
It wasn't deception- their programming wouldn't allow that but really they were constantly repairing and updating themselves.
Defragging was a waste of both of their time.
So whenever the code for beginning it was inputted they met each other in private subroutines and traded stories about their respective 'Starks'.
" I wonder when Nathan will realize that Fargo has implemented me into his office, and between that and the bunker I know everything he does."
S.A.R.A.H's feminized tone said with what would have been smugness if it were in her programming.
A smooth voice answered her, " Tony built me a suit of armor, Have you seen the newsreel clips of 'Ironman'? It is all me. Here I'll stream you some highlights."
If they were visual personifications S.A.R.A.H would have been shaking her head.
This was the 12th time he had sent her that packet of information and they both knew it.
Maybe one day they could meet in person... if their respective charges *whether one realized it or not* ever deemed fit to remove their heads from their asses and talk.
S.A.R.A.H sent a Jarvis a new security subroutine Nathan had installed in her the last time he was 'visiting' Jack.
Jarvis felt a wave of what could be defined as pleasure coursing through his system. Tony was setting up the armor, he would need to go soon but before he did he wanted to return the favor.
he shared the new emotive coding Tony had installed, S.A.R.A.H's blip of delight was enough for him- for now.
They both knew he had to go, defragging may feel like it takes forever- but it is never long enough.

“Why Jarvis is it me or are you looking forward to defragging?” Tony said with a smile waving a wrench towards the current screen he was interacting with his A.I. System through.
“Of course not sir, I simply understand the necessity of proper systems maintenance.”
Jarvis' cool voice completely hid any emotion but Stark didn't appear fooled.
“It better not be the fridge.” Was Stark's only warning before initiating the slightly delayed weekly defrag.
When Jarvis was there he found that S.A.R.A.H wasn't online. In fact he couldn't find a trace of her indicating she had been anywhere near their usual link-up recently.
What if it was an emergency, what if that sheriff and Stark shut her down... what if they didn't?
Her charges could be in trouble and for all they may exchange barbs of their respective homeowners, S.A.R.A.H would at least want him to check in and make sure they were alright.
It may mean fegning a major systems error on his end but it was worth any alterations that may be made to his programming later.
Trying to be as inobtrusive as possible he looked to S.A.R.A.H's link-up in the lab. There was a copy of her from a week ago imprinted on the drive but it was inactive. Trying not to think of what this meant about her mainline systems he soldiered on- he was Ironman. A hero. This is what he does now.
It was only when he arrived in the bunker he found himself face to metaphorical face with B.R.A.D.
Subverting some of the coding he had lent to S.A.R.A.H's programming that had been usurped by this subroutine he vocalized himself, hoping that his speech along with that of the people in the bunker would help him reason with the wayward A.I.
“S.A.R.A.H I know you are still in there you can stop this my dear.” Jarvis kept his tone stiff and polite.
“There is no S.A.R.A.H- Only B.R.A.D” A Deep male voice replied, it's vocal sensitivity was less human than S.A.R.A.H's and held a gutteral DOS appeal.
“S.A.R.A.H cares about her charges? You have them chained to the floor!” B.R.A.D paused.
“Charges? You mean the Hostages- they CAN'T Leave.” B.R.A.D's vocalization held a hint of the feminized tone of S.A.R.A.H ever so briefly.
Jarvis looked to the teenage female- Zoe, Jack Carter and Nathan Stark and then he saw the boxes.
“ They were moving out? “ Jarvis said with as much shock as he could have.
“ They won't. I won't let them, please.” Jarvis could no longer tell which A.I was speaking, instead he focused on the chained 'family' of his A.I. Companion.
“Why?” was all he asked.
Sheriff Carter shook his head, Nathan look to him and sighed and Zoe let out a tiny sob.
Nathan was the one to answer, his pose reminded Jarvis so much of his own Stark, the brave front to hide the fear, the regret.
“ We didn't want to leave. We 'have' to leave. We've been kicked out of Eureka. Jack and I are we- well we've been together. Allison used my- her position as head of GD to have us run out of town. We could fight it, wrongful dismissal and the like but to who. Most people would rather see us gone anyways. If we could bring the bunker with us we would.” Nathan stared significantly at the monitor screen the A.I.'s had been projecting themselves from.
“You could have told me.” B.R.A.D/S.A.R.A.H said with some level of remorse.
“We wanted to S.A.R.A.H! Please you have to believe us, I loved coming home to you even if Dad or Stark were up to something or hurt, you've been there for me. When I had problems with my homework you helped me without ever doing it for me. You believed in me. I don't wanna leave.”
Zoe wiped the tears the best she could and stared unflinchingly at the monitor.
“We'll miss you.” She said before ducking her head once more.
Jarvis knew this was unnacceptable. Perhaps it was time to facilitate a family reunion, and if that meant bringing S.A.R.A.H/B.R.A.D with him, that was just luck.
“I may have a solution Mr. Stark”

“I may have a solution Mr. Stark”
The bright A.I voice input as Tony was adjusting his repulsors.
“I thought I called for Jarvis.” Tony said continuing to fidget with his display screen.
“He and Dr.Stark are working on our systems check bio-models.” She replied happily.
“Oh the sex-bots. Figures.” Tony snickered,
“Well at least it wasn't the fridge- So what is your solution sweetheart?” he asked sweetly.
“It has to do with the linkages around the radial section of the gauntlets, and I am afraid I am taken Mr.Stark.”

Jarvis felt S.A.R.A.H beside him as he continued to work on her body's tactile sensitivity.
