David was sooooo good. I sobbed. But I must say I think I'm beginning to fancy Matt Smith a bit.

Being Human starts this Sunday, right?

The estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has threatened to kill any potential sequel to the hit film Sherlock Holmes if it suggests that the famous detective and his associate Dr. Watson were secretly gay lovers.

This more or less ensures that I won't be watching the sequel as it's probably going to be painful in its earnest attempt to be 100% heterosexual.

Oh yeah and I read that a few days ago - it TOTALLY AND UTTERLY SUCKS. Big Time. The Estate of Arthur Conan Doyle = FAIL. Seriously, have you watched some of the interviews RDJ and Jude Law have been doing, where they're flirting like crazy with each other and talking about how Guy Ritchie congratulated them when their performances were "something closely resembling heterosexuality"???? Seriously, RDJ is slashing Holmes/Watson more than any fangirl has so far!!! (part of the reason I SO LOVE this man lol)

I can't beleive they are being so pathetic about it. *rolleyes*

I think the Holmes/Watson relationship is part of the film's success, be it seen in a slashy or just fun light.
This just enrages me.
RDJ and JL are too cute for words. :)

I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books.
If it wasn't so sad, it would actually be pretty funny. I mean - "not true to the spirit of the books"? Has the lady actually read the books? I read them when I was twelve and even then I could see the "homoerotic subtext" (and I didn't even know what that was, back then).

I have to admit I never read the books, but someone posted this paragraph from "The Adventure of the Three Garridebs" which I believe says it all:

""It was worth a wound; it was worth many wounds; to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that cold mask. The clear, hard eyes were dimmed for a moment, and the firm lips were shaking. For the one and only time I caught a glimpse of a great heart as well as of a great brain. All my years of humble but single-minded service culminated in that moment of revelation."

I wish Merlin was on sale over here in US :(

Yeah I wonder if/when they will sell them in the US. I have a region free player so I don't really mind. It would just cool for more people to have access to them.

Well....that's a little.....er.....unimpressive. *struggles to find the right words*

Though dude, I gotta say I respect Robert Downey Jr. for even acknolwedging the "homoerotic subtext" in public without being harassed about it first, LOL! ;) It's progress....in a weird sort of way, perhaps.

Haven't seen the movie so I have no comment about what's there or isn't there. Still, it's unlikely they'd go the slash route anyway, so I don't see why the estate is acting like there's a stick shoved up its proveribial ass :P.

Arthur, like me, is thoroughly unimpressed.

Hey there *waves*

The movie was very, very slashy and I enjoyed that aspect of it immensely, seriously it's not a great movie, but that Holmes/Watson relationship had me smiling the whole time. I wish we could get Merlin/Arthur scenes like that.
But then again for those not looking for the slash I guess it all just seemed like a running joke. I love how both RDJ and Jude Law are having fun with all the subtext, so screw you Sir Arthur Conan Doyle estate.
