I love this show too. Slashiness + naked Arthur >>>>> plot and/or characterisation.

I heard the Movember theory too, but The Beard's first appearance was on Hallowe'en, and it was already at full skeezitude...

They really must love us, all this nekkid Arthur lately....I more than approve of this trend.

Maybe Bradley was ahead of the curve with his beard? Or realised how straggly it looks and made up an excuse?

LMAO! This is pretty much exactly what I said in my own review of the episode. I was like, "this was ridiculous and this was fake and this was completely OOC, but OMG THE SLASH AND THE LOVE WAS SO EPIC I DON'T EVEN CARE FOR ONCE!!!!" ;D

I am shallow. The end.

I watch Merlin for the lols. Other shows I watch for the characterisation. I don't care how technically terrible Merlin might be, I'll continue watching it as long as it makes me happy and Bradley is at least partially naked. I'm a girl of simple tastes...

Arthur/Merlin isn't even my main ship, but I think I'm being assimilated...

What does Movember mean? I think we'll see beardy Colin and beardy Bradley on their road trip.

I think it's men growing mustaches/beards for charity in the month of November.

Eeeee! I CANNOT wait for the road trip, it's like all our dreams are coming true.

This fandom is seriously like the greatest fandom EVER! Honestly. All the American fandoms I'm in (past or present) aren't nearly as awesome as Merlin! :D

So excited for the Bradley & Colin roadtrip thing! That'll be AWESOME! And the BAFTA event? Epic win! And even though I personally found the Merlin/Freya stuff completely OOC and ridiculous, the Merlin/Arthur stuff (and the little Merlin/Gwen scene) was AWESOME! Especially the ending :D

Merlin = ♥♥

I cannot quite comprehend how many goodies they are giving us. First the ANLO interviews, then Children in Need and BAFTA and now a road trip?????
Someone made the proper sacrifices to the fandom gods.

I actually enjoyed the Freya/Merlin moments (how come Colin has more chemistry onscreen with women than Bradley has?), but yes it was totally OOC for Merlin to leave Camelot with her. Free her, help her escape the city? Yes. Abandon his destiny? NO.
I guess I'll fanwank it as hormones.
But I was glad to see them pick up on Merlin feeling isolated again.

And Colin is always beautiful crying.

We are so spoiled! It makes me immensely happy :D

Colin could have chemistry with a pole. Just saying....;)

The things that made me most upset about the Merlin/Freya thing were:

a) Merlin just randomly deciding he was GOING TO LEAVE ARTHUR. Yeah right. GIve me a freaking break.

b) Merlin using his magic against Arthur. HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!! EVER! It probably wouldn't have hurt him, but it still had the potential. I'm sorry, but it's 100% canon that Arthur is at the top for Merlin, girl or no.

Also, I'm horribly against the "love at first sight" thing and have been for many, many years. I can understand Merlin wanting to help her, but I think the lengths he went to were unbelievable as a whole. However, this is just my opinion, obviously, and I respect what you're saying completely.

But, as I say, the M/A stuff was so incredibly AWESOME that I didn't end up really caring about the other stuff! Shallow Mel is shallow ;D

Once again, I agree with all your points.
That gargoyle for instance, I guess Merlin trusted Arthur to be athletic enough to jump out of the way, but STILL.

And yes, there is absolutely no way he would leave Camelot and Arthur at this time. Maybe if it had happened at a time when him and Arthur were on the outs, and he was closed to being discovered by Uther.

But yeah it was like for every plot hole they gave the most awesomest M/A interaction of the season so far. God, they have soooo much chemistry.
