Interesting concept indeed. It's been under development for a while. I like how it puts the control over the sounds back into your hands, as opposed to using a mouse or keyboard. It doesn't seem very fit for sequencing though, its greatest strength is improvising on the spot.
You could do really interesting stuff sequencing-wise; that doesn't seem to be their focus, but imagine playing with a handful of "sound-trigger" tokens that you can place anywhere on a physical timeline. Project a grid to make it easier to line them up, but don't snap; it's up to the user to make it swing...
