We're in California for Thanksgiving. We didn't know that we'd be able to come until ten days ago, so the only affordable flights we could find required us to fly from Denver to Sacramento early Wednesday morning, rent a car, and drive 3 hours or so down here. I happily use Mozilla Firefox all the time on Windows, but I've been very disappointed with Firefox 1.0 on Linux (SuSE 9.1, KDE). With the latter, I get crashes often when opening new tabs or tabbing between form fields ( Read more... )

Now is when it starts to get extra crazy.

So. damn. tired.

I'm off to go keep an eye on a polling station in Denver as part of a voter protection effort to make sure that everyone who should be allowed to vote actually gets to do so.

Ah, now it's snowing, not thickly, but in big, wet flakes. They dance in the white and yellow haloes of street lights, which themselves glow brighter in the moist air.

So far, there's nothing but a little rainy drizzle, but it's supposed to snow 3-5 inches tonight.

It snowed last Halloween, too, in the morning. I had to brush my car off and drive through it to Fort Collins. We didn't get any trick-or-treaters last year, and we don't seem to be this year, either.

Well, it's a damn good thing that the trial we had scheduled for this week didn't happen. I worked some crazy number of hours trying to prepare for the next disaster to come down the pipe. I don't know what we would have done if we'd had to be out of the office ( Read more... )
