um...help?

Alright. Straight to the point.

I'm museless.

Or rather, I'm not so much museless as I am completely lacking the motivation to write.

This upsets me. And while I have tried to write, it's been growing for weeks now I've just been pushing the fact aside and it's really beginning to irritate me. Everything I write seems to turn out shitty to be frank. I ( Read more... )

Try a different medium of writing? I don't know what will work for you but like I'm kinda facing something similar-ish. So, for me, I ended up throwing myself back to what made me start loving writing in the first place--which was message board RPGs and stuff.

But I digress. I guess my advice is to try something different from what you are doing now? If you don't want to write the ShizNats, write about different characters?

I've actually been doing that as of late. And it's so much easier and far less stressful. But the difference probably as I post with OCs. But I guess it does help. Maybe some more drabbles, maybe a one-shot. WIPs, they're hard.

Hmmm. Taking a break from ShizNat does seem like it'd be refreshing.
But then there's that nagging voice at the back of my head telling me I'd be betraying/disappointing my current readers. >_<; Eck!

Oh, I know how this goes.

But when you're not motivated, you're not motivated... and forcing it will not produce your best work. It seems you've perhaps lost your passion for the fandom, as I have. So writing the pair is difficult. Don't worry about your current readers... if they're at all loyal they'll be willing to wait. :) And to those that harass you, just ignore those.

That said, I know there's so much badly written stories in the fandom as of late (or so I've been told), and it's really rather a shame to be losing yet another good writer. Even if it is for a limited period. Then again, it's hard to write for a fandom when there's so much dross in it! >.<

But yes, it looks like you need a break from the fandom at the very least. You could always take a break from writing... a focused one, I mean... not one where you have to fret about actually not writing. :P When I get writer's block it can last from anything from a few days to a few years... so I've learned to just go along with my mind's whims. ;)

You always offer good advice for a stressing writer. :] Thanks Caz. I admit my interest in the fandom has lessened dramatically. And there is a lot of not-so-fun splooge now. It makes me sad, but I think I do need a good break from Mai HiME.

Heh, you're very welcome. :)

I hope the break gives you what you need anyway, and hey... if it doesn't help, it might just mean that you shouldn't go back to it. It's your choice whether you write for a fandom or not anyway. Don't let readers harass you on that. ;)

Anyway, I have a plane to catch! *rushes off*
