Glad to have you back! I was reading through your play and I have a question. What does the name 'Enitan' mean? I know that Ife means 'to love' but I don't know about Enitan. Also, if Takunboh is the eldest that wouldn't it be likely that he was born in Nigeria? I think that you are using certain names for a reason and the reason I notice that is because of the names 'Oluchi' and 'Olujimi', "God's work" and "given by God" so I just figured. I guess thats more than 1 question.

Anyway I hope I can see this play once its completely finished. And I hope all goes well with your mom and the animal cruelty thing.

Always,
Cristi

Enitan means 'person who will have a story to tell' (see what I did there?). Takunboh WAS born in Nigeria, hence 'the play is set amongst a Yoruba tribe in Nigeria'. Didn't know you had such .. intricate knowledge of Yoruba names, I'm deeply impressed. Because, of course, if you had used Google, you would have instantly found out what Enitan means ... (?)
With regards to the 'animal cruelty' thing, it's not like they have a leg to stand on. I think some old granny wants a nice young RSPCA man to come around her home so that she can have tea with him, and then try to seduce him. Think 'the Graduate', made awkward by a zimmoframe and a remote-controlled bed for the elderly.
'Mrs Lawrence, you're trying to seduce me, aren't you?' *WHIRRRR*

Neighbourhood Watch is the most irritating manifestation of local government since the PTA. They take on issues they really have no power to confront.

One question, though: what's the BNP?

British National Party. They say they're not racist, but an undercover reporter for the BBC filmed their ex-leader, Nick Griffin, calling Muslims 'scum' and 'a threat to Britain'. Nick Griffin was arrested, but this made him a martyr for the 'freedom fighters' of the 'far-right' (their freedom, of course). In Holland, at the moment, there's someone in power who's almost as bad (the party pretty much fed off Islamophobia to get votes) and that's why we're a bit worried here in Britain ( ... )

Wow, the BNP sounds really freakin dangerous! I'm a Canadian, so the focus of our political worries for the last little while is how the hell the Conservatives got into power in the last election and how to prevent them being re-elected next time. (GO NDP!)

The PTA in your area rocks! Mine just imposed rules written with various levels of incompetence.

"No hats"
"No bandanas"
"No thick hairbands"
"No hair accessories on males"
"No unnatural hair colours"

Just give us a uniform and have done with it!

yeah, when I went to college they tried to impose the rule 'no sexual activity, inc. hugging, or holding hands' on account of our affectionate ways putting off visitors. No, not that way. Someone must have seen us and complained and said that there was no way they were sending their kid to a school with normal people in it. We just went around hugging and holding hands with everyone, regardless of sex, until they got the message.

Your PTA rules sound fantastic. I would actually fail any three of those guidelines at any one time.

I have family who live in Halifax, Nova Scotia .. we own a house in Mahone Bay, which is famous because of some clipper boat. My Aunt says it's a ridiculously politically confused place to live, thru influx of immigrants and the reaction of the WASPs in the area. Pretty much like anywhere else in the 1st world.
