Exactly like that except 50% cheaper by buying 35"x35" blanks from Dharma Trading and dyeing them myself. The yellows, blues and greens were easy- the reds and purples were more challenging. The oranges sucked up color like a fiend. Wilton's icing colors, white vinegar and water was all it took to make colorfast, foodsafe, vibrant colored playsilks.
It can also be done using koolaid but I decided to get the icing colors for brighter silks and I have most of 11 of 12 colors left except no taste red for cake decorating.
It will last me YEARS (unless I dye more silks).
