I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single ( Read more... )

I fucking LOVE My Little Ponies. For real. It's possible you didn't know that, despite that I'm the Queen of Overshare.

I suck at thinking of questions to ask people, though.

The biggest moment in my life is when I got to interview Mikhail Gorbachev :D I don't know if that's what you wanted to know but I'm still riding on a cloud from that one. One more thing, my favorite tv-show right now is Misfits, and I started watching it because of a post you did. It hurts my insides that there are only 10 episodes :(
My question for you; can you recommend a good book to read during the holidays?

It depends on what kind of thing you like to read. If you haven't read The Hunger Games trilogy, I can highly recommend those. Right now, I'm on a major military kick, and I'm up to my eyes in "The Junior Officers' Reading Club" which is...very different from, like, something written by Nate Fick, but excellent, all the same :b

I love the trumpet, it's one of my few musical passions and I used to play every single night. I also have played and sung for Lords and Ladies. I don't play anymore because I don't have a trumpet at the mo but I'm saving up for a new one. I always wanted to join the national youth orchestra when I was younger and would still love to play in a big brass band or orchestra. My favourite song, which is so incredibly easy to play, is Oh When The Saints it just sounds so chirpy on a trumpet.

I have a degree (YAY!) in Information Studies with English Literature. Which you know about, it makes me very happy to say I have a degree though considering I dropped out of school.

Which books are your favourites, what would you recommend? I'm almost finished my current reading list.

A lot of my favourites are non-fiction, and they're about war. But I cannot strongly enough recommend the Deathstalker series by Simon R. Green. It's pure space opera ridiculousness and I love every single one of them :D

- I'm double-jointed and can scratch any location on my back.
- I enjoy doing the New York Times (and while at Smith the Boston Globe) Sunday crosswords, even though I never finish them.
- I played piano when I was a kid because my mom taught piano part-time, but I hated it and gave up when she stopped teaching with the divorce.
- I think one of the most underrated authors out there is Nicola Griffith; both her SF and mystery/thriller books are great.
