I think that I want to write a paper about Batman and Superman as representations of the id and superego respectively, with the reader as ego.
If only I had more time, motivation and understanding of Freudian theory.

you wouldn't need to limit it to Freudian theory, his ideas of the id/ego/superego were expanded by a bunch of other psychoanalytic theorists, some of whom went less mad and were less pressured by the sociopolitical climate of the time to renounce their sensible theories in favour of those that didn't challenge the status quo.
but you'd have to know more about them, so that won't work either.
