Oy. So, I lost my phone last Monday. I haven't been able to find it; I think it probably got lost in with the dogs' stuff when Dean's mother came to pick them up. Either that, or I left it in the Taco Bell

As for your phone, I feel compelled to jump in here - if you did an insurance replacement thingie, you should call Cingular today. :-) Takes about five minutes for them to swap out the info. You'll need to have the SIM card number and the IMEI number handy when you call. The IMEI can be found in three places: the box the new phone came in, on the phone itself on the white label underneath the battery, or in the phone - turn it on and press *#06# and it should display. Your SIM card number will start with 89014 and be ridiculously long.
When you call, say "Yeah, I lost my phone last week, and I have my replacement." The customer service rep will know what to do. :-)
Yeah, I looked into that. Sadly, apparently I haven't been using Mom's ERP long enough if the ERP qualifies for it anyway. I didn't sign up for the insurance either way, though. It started as a Go phone when I first stopped sharing a phone with The Asshole, and when Mom qualified for her employee lines, she gifted me the 500 minute one. Sooooooo... nah, no replacement. Still, I found one on clearance at Wal-Mart. Eighty-five bucks, but not bad for not signing a contract, and it's a camera phone, too. :-D
Yeah, stopped at a Cingular store and got one just before I went phone hunting. It's in there, and Mom has emailed the ERP people with the info. Just waiting for it to go into effect, or for them to be in the office to send it through. *bouncebouncebounce*
It's amazing how odd it feels to *not* have a cell phone. I'm just used to being able to call people I haven't spoken to in a bit at whim, and knowing that anybody who wants to can get in touch with me. I feel disconnected, or something. I haven't had one that I could call my own on a consistent basis that long... it's just weird to think how quickly it became a part of my norm.
Even more frustrating is the knowledge that my phone book was in the phone, and I hadn't thought to actually back it up, so I'm going to go back and hunt for numbers. On the upside, it'll definitely simplify said phone book. I don't think I ever went back through and deleted people I haven't spoken to. :-D
I borrowed the audiobook of Going Postal from the library and put it on my iPod. It was awesome! I'd already read it, of course, but for some reason I completely love listening to British novels read by British people. (I listened to Anansi Boys too.) Unfortunately the library doesn't have any more Pratchett on CD. Oh well.

On the up-side, my phone is now working, and I'm rather giddy over it still. :-D
