[OTA] It's an island, not a circus

It was quite amusing for Harry to have to question the Head of the Medical Centre about whether he wanted to press charges for assault against the owner of Hors de Prix. The resort security had notified the CIU about what had happened by the pool, but seriously? Harry knew it was best to let blokes sort this shit out for themselves, so he wasn't ( Read more... )

Temperance sat outside The Four Sands cafe sipping her latte and trying to brainstorm her next novel. She figured if she were stuck here with nothing to do she could at least use the setting for writing inspiration. And the more she thought about it, getting Kathy and her sexy FBI agent partner to investigate a string of murders on an island resort might be just what the fictional anthropologist needed. Sun, sand and sex on the beach. She laughed to herself as she heard Booth's surprised voice in her head: Bones!

The legal pad she picked up at the book store was starting to fill up with key words and small snippets of possible plot points. She looked at it and realized she had written SEX in all caps and traced it a couple times without even noticing. Sweets would certainly have a field day with that one.

She looked up as she saw someone walking down the sidewalk toward the cafe. When she realized it was Detective Potter gave him a small wave and smile that said "yup, still here".

Harry returned the smile and stopped beside her table. "Dr Brennan," he greeted her. "How have you been getting on? Are things seeming a little less overwhelming now? I've been here a few months now and still wake up wondering where the bloody hell I am."

Temperance looked up at Harry, slightly squinting in the sunlight. "Hi Detective Potter. I am managing I suppose." she shrugged. "I still can't say that I entirely except the length I may be stuck here, but I am trying to make the best of my captivity." She tapped the pen in her hand on the legal pad in front of her.

She sat there for a moment before her social sense caught up to her. "Um, please sit if you'd like" she said as she indicated to the empty chair across from her. "You're probably on the clock, but it might be quicker service for me to flag down my waiter than for you to stand in the line inside."

Harry gratefully took the seat with a smile. "Cheers for that. Actually, I've just come from an interview, but no charges are to be pressed, so I've got a bit of time on my hands. Just looking at the guy made my head hurt." He slipped his light suit jacket off and hung it over the back of his chair.

"There's only so much lying in the sun one can do." He gestured to her notepad. "Are you working?"
