[Closed to Sirius] Mischief managed

Oct 04, 2009 20:19

James sat in the resort lobby waiting for Sirius. There was a cluster of sofas off in one corner partially closed off from the rest of the seating. He figured this was a bit better than the pub but when Sirius arrived they'd decide where to go. Their first meeting of sorts was cut short so Sirius suggested meeting another day. Was more than a bit ( Read more... )

Sirius hurried into foyer, trying to wrestle his way back into his t-shirt and it mostly being a losing battle in his haste. He only just managed to tug it into place when he made it to James' side, but his hair was now in a disarray and he made a quick attempt to right it again with the palm of his hand. "Sorry I'm a bit late. I had stuff with the kid going on this morning when he decided to be a brat, and then now I just had, um... employee-boss relations things to do," he added, clearing throat and not succeeding in any way, shape or form to pull off the all-innocent look. It wasn't something Sirius ever really succeeded at.

James turned and stood. "Bout damn time you...wait, did you just say kid?" He remembered Harry mentioning that Sirius was in a relationship with the owner of the pub but he didn't say anything about a kid. James smirked and wiggled his eyebrows. "Oh, relations, I see." James always knew why Sirius was trying to hide something and right now was no different but he decided to let it go. They had plenty to catch up on. "So, where' the best sport for starting this fucked up trip down memory lane?" James couldn't help but laugh.

Sirius sniggered and waved his hand as he sat down. "Not my kid. Not that I wouldn't mind one of my own, for sure. This is Lorenzo. He's nineteen, hails fromThirteenth Century Italy, so he is clueless to our time here. Someone needed to keep an eye out for him when he got here, so I just sort of adopted him by default. He had no modern skills so he couldn't get a job here, even if he did manage to go and pick one up as ball boy for the lasses volleyball team. Lucky bastard," he said with a smirk.

He shrugged. "Fuck, you tell me. This is still as weird as all fuck and I'll admit straight up I've been avoiding you, but you know what I'm like. Trust you to bloody figure out a way to keep your early twenties looks without anti-ageing potion. Bastard," he said with a fond nudge at his friend.

James nodded in understanding. "Well that's very kind of you, Padfoot. I bet you drop him off at work and pick him up, just to make sure he gets there alright." James winked and chuckled. "How's he dealing with the modern world, and the fact that you're a wizard?"

James sat back down."I guess this is just as good as any spot, if we need to move we will." James was taken aback that Sirius had been avoiding him, but he understood completely. This was some really fucked up shit and to be honest, James probably would have done the same thing. "It's alright mate, you're here now aren't you?" James rolled his eyes at Sirius and nudged him back. "I'd give up my early twenties looks for early fifties looks if it meant I could have been there to watch my son grow up and grow old with Lily. I really fucking miss her..." James trailed off and ran his hand through his hair, a habit he had never broken and Lily always swooned over.
