Persepolis

Apparently Persepolis, the animated movie adapted from Marjane Satrapi's comic, just got released in the US. So in case you wonder, yes, it is exactly as awesome as it looks like. Or more. And if you never heard of it, it's absolutly fucking awesome. It's an autobiographic story about a young Iranian girl growing up through the Iranian revolution. ( Read more... )

I've no idea if it's released in Argentina... okay I just checked and the imdb says January 31th. I don't know how well served your city might be of course, but heh, worst case scenario you can find it on the net or order a DVD some time later. ^^

ZOMG yes! I was fangirling that movie since I saw it on a festival. It was... words fail me. Not to mention the comics were sold out in all the bookstores the very next day, ie, just when I wanted to buy them :-) Marjane Satrapi is one kickass lady. I did notice another little comic by her, about sex life in Iran. :-) Leafing through it, there was talk of a woman who had three children yet she'd never seen a penis - her kids were all girls. :-) Now I'm sorry I didn't buy it...
