Sherlock / Neverwhere (N.Gaiman). Sherlock's already working with the Irregulars. How much of a stretch is it for him to fall Below? I can see him falling Below and still managing to live Above!
I would be undone by Werewolf!John/human!Sherlock as narrated by Howl from Florence + The Machine.
It smacked me upside the head the very first time I heard the track and my brain can't let it go. I have adored your world building and the possessive love you write between John and Sherlock, so I toss this plot bunny your way.
"Don't," John snaps curtly when Sherlock reaches to take away his laptop. There's something in his voice that must be different -- something brought to the foreground by the moon, not even a full day shy of his transformation -- that makes Sherlock stop in his tracks like a startled deer

wings are the best i swear because they're so funny
Most of the time, John doesn't even notice they're there -- they're just a thing, part of the dodgy genetics from mum's side of the family. No one else sees them -- his mum always and Harry sometimes, but he can hide them from her if he tries.
But. Sherlock looks over John's shoulder sometimes, even when nothing is there.
Sherlock's normal -- or at least, not like him, because he smells like human and walks like human and doesn't have any Power humming just beneath his skin. John's seen his blood often enough to know that

HIGH SCHOOL AU. Sherlock is that prissy rich kid, John is the older kid who plays a lot of sports and lives on the wrong side of the tracks. Or something.
Also, that snippet is lovely but also incredibly saddening, oh, Sherlock, oh, John.

something profound and maybe a little funny about first meetings 2/2etothepiiJanuary 28 2011, 14:17:24 UTC
Sherlock touches a hand to his mouth. A bright spot of blood colors his lower lip, from where John's split it. "Why should I? It was true. She is an idiot, and she is fiercely attracted to her project partner. That's the only possible reason she could have agreed to work with her -- the girl's even more stupid than everyone else is."
"I don't care if it's true or not," John says, and takes a threatening step closer. Sherlock's eyes drop to his hands. "It doesn't matter. Take it back. Tell them you made it up. Tell Emily you made it up, that you were lying."
Emily isn't talking to Harry right now (John walked through the main doors with Harry even though he usually doesn't, and when Harry had tried to greet her, she'd pretended not to hear).
Sherlock's face becomes almost comically confused. "Why? You don't even like her. You avoid her whenever possible, don't like her friends, and spend most of your time with your own friends, on the school's American football team."
"Because she's my sister," John growls. "And. You. Made. Her.
