I LOVE the structure of this. I always have a thing for parallel/what if situations. (One day I will try this out!) You did this wonderfully. It could be all angsty and horrible, but it turns out quite all right in the end. The line about waking up to Zoe made me laugh. That must've been quite a sight for him. ;) But really, the hand holding, the snuggling just about did me in. This kind of fluff is exactly what I need.
