Hey Kat, Good to hear about your news. Sounds like your "hotel room" is getting a real makeover. Making it be more like a home sounds really smart. Hope you find a sort of permanency just for your stay there. Friendships are hard to make meaningful in a short time, aren't they? Your feelings about parties aline with mine; the party is pretty lame without good conversations and fun interactions. I don't want to blurt out advice since I'm sure you won't really appreciate it, so I'll just pray for you that you'll trust God with it all. God bless.

It's not a big make over. Just itsy bitsy tiny things that make a big difference to me.
I agree with your analysis of parties. The one last week did have loads of conversations and fun interactions, I just wasn't a part of most of them towards the end of the night (I did chat to some people in a social situation that I hadn't before, and that was good). My back up plan of helping to tidy fell down too as one of the teachers told me she didn't need help :(
Things are generally improving, just slowly. It's the slow that's hard. I want friendships to be AWESOME NOW!!
Cheers! Something needed to change! And I've been pinning all these decorating ideas for when we finally move into our own house, so I decided to do a little bit now with what I have.
Also, we've been in Halls Creek for a whole month. A MONTH!! I need to stop feeling that this home is transient (which is kinda is long term)
Glad things are mostly going well, chick. I hope you make some progress in the friend department soon - would you get on better if you invited a few people out individually? Say one person from your bible study group (then someone else the next week), one of your fellow teachers (ditto), one person from this course you're on, etc. Just a thought :)
now here's another idea that might help u both feel a little more at home in a hotel suite - maybe James could mow the hotel lawns and put out their rubbish for collection, and Kathryn could do the hotel laundry
