In the land of the sweeter smelling

I’ve been finding it hard lately to not smoke, tempted to bum a cigarette or even go out to buy my own. When I quit last year, I found a lot of the so-called benefits to be untrue (unsurprisingly, given how anti-smoking society is) - my skin got much drier, the world smelt a worse (I’ve always had a really sensitive sense of smell), and I was sick ( Read more... )

I think sometimes it takes a while for all of the benefits of not smoking anymore to kick in. I would imagine if you were sick quite often right after quitting, that it was your body getting rid of the toxins and returning to a normal and more healthy equilibrium. I would bet you find yourself actually sick less this year. (unless the flu gets to you!)

Keep on fighting the good fight. Think of the money you are saving and all the cool stuff you could do with it. I don't know how anyone can even afford to smoke anymore - my gawd cigs are expensive. I worked in a bookstore when I was 17 and cigarettes were .65 a pack then. This was 1979.

(what? I'm not old either. ~you kids get off my lawn.)
