I met the Team Lead With No Nickname cycling into work this morning, or rather he came up behind me. So we cycled the rest of the way in together chatting. Well, that makes sense, I mean god FORBID the CEO and shareholders lose a couple of quid. You wouldn't want to be letting that forward planning nonsense creep into the management ethic either - everyone knows you have as few people as possible do the job so that what the customer gets is a heinous piece of shit that they'll never use. If they ended up with a quality product that gained recognition, who knows where it'd stop?!

Nah, if anything working in a sensible environment has only sharpened my ability to spot lies, trickery and idiot behaviour. I'm not turning into a socialist or anything but I'm getting very tired of seeing people getting shafted and being strung along with promises of permanent positions just to be dropped or messed about just so some already overly wealthy spaz can have some more money that comes to him not through his own efforts but through the combined effort of everyone working there ( ... )

Unfortunately, it's true. We've just got that kind of relationship. Of course, I'd prefer that we had a Wise Guru/Awed Disciple relationship, but I can't really fault him for telling the truth. Just for telling the truth to anybody who'll listen.
