Okay, I'll admit it. As soon as I saw an update on your LJ, I did a very good imitation of a fan foaming at the mouth, flailing, and gurgling incoherently.

The fic is made of love! I'm glad that Nite Owl didn't try to take off the mask (he knows Ror too well for that), but I'm also glad that Ror is okay! I don't know much about burns other than what Wikipedia tells me, so I don't mind if you fudged the facts in order to make the story work.

I think it's kind of funny that, nowadays, everyone is so obsessed about things being as factually correct as possible in fiction, whether it's TV, movies, or whatever, that it seems almost like this horrible crime to fudge things and say, "This doesn't happen in real life, but I'm doing it in the story. That's how I roll."

Either way, I still loved it, so yay!

In my case it's more that I'm going into medicine eventually, so I should know better, and it's not like I don't whinge and complain every time someone on TV or in a movie restarts someone's heart by doing CPR or, I don't know, fixes someone up after invasive abdominal surgery by STAPLING THEIR SKIN TOGETHER HOLY SHIT, NO, WE DO NOT WORK THAT WAY. Just like when I was a little computer whiz I pissed myself laughing every time someone in a movie HACKED THE GIBSON LOLOLOL. So I feel like I should hold myself at least to my own standards?

But no, you're right, this isn't media produced professionally for consumption by millions; it's a h/c id-fic for my own amusement, and I can bend the rules whatever which way I want without shame. NO SHAME.

Ughhhhhhh so good to read your stuff again. I love this early tentative comraderie they have, Rorschach joking with him, not yet totally at ease with each other but years from the bitterness that will come later. THEM. <3
