Oh yes, and while I'm at it, I really need recommendations of dinners that are easy to throw together or can be prepared early in the day because cooking with colic is really not an option...

Do you have a slow cooker? Worth investing in. Boring food goes in early in the day, delicious food comes out at the end of it with minimal intervention in between.

Do you have a breadmaker? One thing I do lately is make pizza dough in the morning, then turn it into a huge calzone during lunch, which I bake lightly and leave in the oven all afternoon.

Then, at dinner time, I can just turn on the oven for 20 minutes.

I usually do a meat-based one, admittedly, but cheese and capsicum is good too.

Macaroni cheese microwaves hot quickly and can be made at lunch time.

Roast vegetables can be chopped and baked at lunch time and reheat well.

Fresh bread, nice cheeses, and salad, with optional deli meats is good.

Being home all day makes slow-cooked stuff like stews and roasted things much more practical. Ditto breads.
