Something I've noticed

...It's weird, but generally when people talk about their cats and dogs, they go out of their way to talk about how cute and adorable they are. When they talk about their kids they seem to go out of their way to talk about how terrible and draining they are. Maybe I'm just noticing this because I'm pregnant

Heh - true, I've even commented on a few of those posts - but this doesn't seem to apply to my friends....

I think part of it may be that parents feel compelled to warn me about the bad side of parenting. But they seem to have done it to the point where I'm now having trouble seeing what the good side of parenting might be...

Glad to hear it doesn't apply to your friends. I found myself spontaneously informing my family this evening that I like being a mother.

Ada is adorable. Also clever and showing encouraging signs of growing into an interesting and kind person.

Ada is lovely. I hope my child is as nice as Ada.

I'm not too bad. Not feeling hugely tired yet, but feeling somewhat disinclined to anything that involves going out somewhere that's not quiet. Only seven more weeks of work to go, and 10 weeks to the due date...

How are you? Has your ankle healed up ok?

Ankle's all better, finally. I've had a spot of bronchitis and quite a bit of work stress, but I'm otherwise fine.

Feeling very glad that it's looking like things will ease up for a week or so.
