You've no reason to fear my wrath, and I'm rather particular about my Hobbits. This is simply a lovely Bilbo-fic, and that is something that there's just too little of! Bilbo is far too neglected, so this is a very welcome little vignette.

I especially like the way you convey Bilbo's mannerisms: the artlessness of a hobbit, the slight shiftiness of manner as he considers his ring, his combination of shyness and boldness as he speaks to an Elf.

You've done quite well!

Aw, thank you very much, sweetie! *hugs* Yes, you were actually one of the Hobbiteers I had in mind, so I'm quite relieved that you like this :-) I agree with you that there are far too few Bilbo fics out there.

I love Hobbits and Hobbit-fics, but after writing elves and men for so long, it's hard to go into a proper frame of mind for writing Hobbit. That's why I ended up writing this from Elrohir's POV, just in case. I'm very glad he came across all right; thank you again!

Hmm - this story really makes me wonder what would have happened if Elrohir had found out about the Ring... Wonderful idea to bring the Ring into this story the way you did! That was perfectly Bilbo, and I like your Elrohir more and more - I love it how gentle and kind he is with the hobbit. :) I liked this story very much. ^_^

Thank you, hon! Yes, that's quite an interesting premise, though I daresay at that point he would have found it difficult to believe that it was the One Ring of Sauron, since Gandalf spent years researching it before doing the final test in Bag End's fireplace.

Arg, no, no more bunnies! *brandishes fryng pan* shoo!

I'm glad you liked Elrohir, for some reason he was harder to write than usual when put together with a Hobbit. I guess I'm just not used to that sort of interaction.

Liliked it very much. The whole tone of the story and the inclusion of the prompt. I could picture them both vividly talking together and appreciated their respective voices. great fic.

Thank you, sweets! It was an unconventional type of interaction for me, and I'm quite glad to have done it.

PS- Love the icon! ^_^

Your style is quite lovely to read, easy yet elegant. The opening paragraph had me laughing, in its descent from seemingly top-lofty elf to startled hobbit. :)

Gandalf was right, there was something infinitely endearing about Hobbits.

A wonderful line, indeed. :)

Thank you very much, dear! Wow, you've really gone through a lot of my most recent entries! *huggles* I'm very glad that you liked this; I was a little worried about the change of tone in the first sentence, but I have a streak of silliness that just has to be obeyed ^_^

It's great to see you around here :-D
