Pinocchio's First Date

Once in a while, in the middle of a story, you find an interesting twist. The twist may add something to the story or may be the result of an over-enthusiastic author’s creative mind which needs to be edited. The following excerpt is from the Adventures of Pinocchio which got lost on the editing table.1

This was lots of fun!

Some errors I saw though, that you should correct before the deadline in the below paragraph:

The Fairy with Turquoise hair was known to hedge her bets and never loose. She handed over a sandpaper handkerchief to Pinocchio and casted a spell for a runny nose. So, whenever he would wipe his nose it would automatically reduce in size. The spell would be broken if Pinocchio kissed Candlewick, she warned him in advance.

- should be never lose, not loose
- should be cast a spell, not casted a spell

:-)

I didn't expect Candlewick to be the love interest, which was perfect as there are not many worse choices. That Pinocchio fell for him when he caught Candlewick stealing apples foreshadows the worst, really.

Sandpaper handerchief! That could have helped, had Pinocchio made it that far...

I toyed with the idea of crossing over to some other story..like Pinocchio falling for little red ridding hood and a witch helping him with the first date..but then while re-reading the adventures of Pinocchio..Candlewick suddenly felt much more appealing and the Fairy was ever ready to help him throughout.
Happy that you found it to be perfect..:) Heh! Sandpaper handkerchief was my favourite part too.
Thanks a ton for stopping by..<3

Hehe ... this was quite a clever take on the prompt. I intended to go direct with Pinocchio too but was unable to think of anything apt for love interest. Then decided to take an alternate route. Candle wick seems brilliant. You amaze me as always with the creativity and the twists in your plot. Keep it up :)

Thanks for the kind words..<3 reading this really makes my day..:) I initially was struggling with the love interest as well..thought of a cross over to another story or a new fictional character..and finally settled on Candlewick while reading the synopsis and not finding much about him on the net.
Glad that the twist worked for you. Happy to see you stop by..<3 *Hugs*

Oh Pinochio! Of course he eloped. But that Sandpaper handkerchief sounds painful to me!
