Justify - Kakashi and Sasuke (1/1)
Justify

Summary: Kakashi and Sasuke on being a human weapon without losing your humanity.
“We have both found precious companions,” Kakashi said.
Sasuke flinched and lowered his eyes, his anger quickly dissolving into guilt as he thought about Naruto and Sakura.
“That power is not something to be used against your friends for revenge. You yourself should know what that power should be used for,” Kakashi said.
The wire around Sasuke tightened slightly, and Sasuke rose his head up, giving Kakashi a confused look.
“Tell me,” Kakashi said. His voice had taken a soft, but firm tone.
Sasuke bowed his head again. He wanted to say, ‘the power is for revenge,’ even if he knew Kakashi would scold him more. But something else was nagging at him; that part of himself that he was trying to cut off but Naruto managed to drag out and Sakura managed to touch.
“I - ,” Sasuke clenched his fists, allowing his nails to dig into his palms and just barely able to control his strength enough not to break the skin. He looked back up at Kakashi, suddenly wishing Kakashi would give him the answers.
Kakashi said nothing.
Anger bubbled up within him, and the calm he’d gained dissappeared. He glared at Kakashi, and opened his mouth, intending to yell at him again.
“Don’t say a word unless it’s an answer to my question,” Kakashi said, and Sasuke detected a hint of a warning in his voice.
Part of Sasuke desperately wanted to obey, wanted to come up with the right answer, because he liked it when Kakashi praised him, and he could detect a flicker of pride in the back of his visible eye.
Instead, he gave into the rage that he was drowning in and spat, before could even think about what he was going to say, “You’re not my mother.”
“No,” Kakashi said wearily.
Sasuke felt guilt claw up his chest and he dug his nails harder into his palms, breaking the skin, and uncaring that blood was dripping down his wrists.
Sasuke felt a tug at the wire binding him to the tree, heard a sigh, and a moment later, he was free. Before he could say a word, Kakashi spoke.
“Come with me so I can tend to your hands.”
Sasuke unclenched his firsts and held up his hands slightly so that he could get a good look a the blood beginning to coat them. After starting at them for a few minutes, he stood up and quietly followed his teacher.
