When Naruto finally sees Sasuke after all this time he wants to touch him so badly it hurts. Naruto feared (feared with all of his heart) that Sasuke was just a ghost like in the dreams that plagued him at night.
He’d almost grown to believe that Sasuke had always been a ghost.
(He hoped this was real.)

When Sakura finally sees Sasuke, her anger at Sai disappears; in fact, everything seemed to disappear but Sasuke. She stared at every bit of him that she could get her eyes on, desiring to run to him and hold him. She wanted to know every inch of his body.
She wanted to break down the walls he’d tried to build around his heart and get to the scars that Itachi had inflicted upon him and heal them.

When Sasuke finally sees them, he wants to sneer at them, prove he doesn’t give a damn about them anymore. Their part of his past, the past he doesn’t live for. Part of what ifs, and Sasuke didn’t do what ifs anymore. He just lived to kill his brother.
But when he looks down at them, all he wants to do smile.
(He hopes it doesn’t show.)
