I just love this. They could go anywhere in the world, do anything, go their separate ways, but no, they wander around in a clump and pile together because that's what they want and everyone else can fuck off, they're a complete unit.

Yeah, basically. Damon has never cared for more than a handful of people, Stefan good a pretending to care about everyone else but when forced to choose, he's going to choose Damon (and, honestly, he probably would with Elena if Elena would be cool with that) and Elena's chosen her loved ones over the world over and over and I don't think that's going to change.

SO THEY SHOULD JUST LIVE IN A CODEPENDENT BUBBLE OF NOT CURING ABOUT ANYONE BUT EACH OTHER.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID. THEY SHOULD CHOOSE EACH OTHER AND ALL 3 STAY TOGETHER, SNACKING ON PEOPLE, FUCKING EVERY WHICH WAY ALL OVER THE WORLD AND LOVING ONE ANOTHER FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER.

sometimes I want that 100% but then I remember that Elena has other people she loves. So sometimes she goes off with Bonnie and Caroline for a couple of decades while Damon and Stefan go off and have sex together and miss her.

That's true. I prompted on some ficathon somewhere that I wanted to see a fic where the three of them met up every few decades and sometimes she stayed with Stefan and sometimes she went with Damon and sometimes she rented a house with Caroline while she took a break from Klaus and/or Tyler. (I've got problems LOL)

I would write that. Except, knowing me, I'd also make Bonnie immortal and I'd have Caroline and Stefan travel together sometimes.

DAMON WOULD JUST. BE ALONE. HE DOESN'T DO FRIENDS VERY WELL. don't worry. he'll text the hell out of Stefan and Elena at inappropriate times. Or maybe he'd bond with kol.

That would be an awesome story - Bonnie may not need to be immmortal, but Gloria showed that she can slow down the aging process, so hey, somewhat canon! And I'd love to see Caroline and Stefan traveling, and just hearing Caroline's opinion on the ot3.

Yeah. Actually in my Stefan+Caroline bff fic I have them talk about Damon. I think i could possibly do something humerous about Caroline and Damon if the show actually ever dealt with it. :/

Maybe it happens by accident the first time, like he's in a bar and there's a chick (or dude, I don't care, I come down on the het side of things) coming on to him but he's half drunk and wants to talk about this ongoing fight he's having with his brother and their girlfriend about who is supposed to do the dishes on Thursdays. Chick talks to him about it, but then he eats her and only thinks about how nice it was to talk to somebody again after she's already dead.
