Ugh...linear foreign body. Love the pictures! This was a very entertaining post, but I'm sure it was hell at the time. Just last week we had an emergency surgery after hours to remove 30 ft of jewelry twine from a cat.
I hate linear FBs so much, you have no idea (well, actually, you pretty much do *fistbump of solidarity*). This one went from the jejunal-duodenal line riiiiiiiiight the way down to past the ileo-caecal juncture, and partway into the colon /o\
Unfortunately we found out today that Jack (who was transferred to a specialist ICU centre on Friday night when he started to decompensate into septic shock) passed away on Sunday night. His GI tract had just been too badly traumatised by the floss, and he developed a septic peritonitis that precipitated a cascading DIC.

The day, on the other hand, looks like if it were me, when it was over, I would have slept for the next two days to make up for all of that.
