Yes! I love the long nights, too! Crunching leaves! Although I have a lot of oak in my backyard, so the Great Acorn Fall is happening on my roof - They hit and bounce a couple of times, and then roll down before falling off the edge of the roof.
I am always surprised at first, and have to think about what the hell that noise is every year.
No comment about autumn because we don't really get one here, but if you like Colin Ferguson in Eureka, you should check out the podcasts. He's been doing the audio commentary for most of the episodes and I find him utterly hilarious and charming.
