Weight Watchers and the SCA

Apr 21, 2009 08:31

I called WW this morning to see what it would take for me to become a leader and do meetings at SCA events (probably Sat morning, but the timing could be flexible.) The scales and selling WW foods/tool are going to be a bit of a challenge, but I'm fairly sure that could be worked around. And the regional manager is supposed to call me ( Read more... )

Since I'm trying WW at present, that would be very cool. Go for it!

I've been slowly building a repetoire of period and perioide (take a period recipe and tweak it a bit so that its still recognizable but uses diet-happy techniques and tricks to trim the fat and calories) recipes that are weight watchers friendly...I'd be happy to share if that's helpful?

Yes, please!

Gianetta and I were talking (last summer) about putting together a collegium class on period/perioid ww-friendly foods (prolly this fall as we're both booked through June Crown.) Would we be able to share your recipes? Due credit given of course. Or would be interested in coming down to help teach it?

I'd love to get the notes if you do, but I already have water-bearing commitments for the war - otherwise I'd be doing the foodie thing with y'all! :-)

One more consideration - who will want to be weighed in their heavy garb? Some of my dresses weigh several pounds. :-D

At events? It's always so crazy at events...
But I'd try WW again if there was an SCA run or dominated meeting in our neck of the woods (Berkeley/Concord area).
I had such a hard time relating to the leader and the folks of the meetings my daughter and I tried to go to. The kid likened it to "that episode of X-Files, you know, the one with the alien cult???).

If we could all agree on a night, we could take over one of the meetings at El Cerrito Plaza...

Meeting at events, weigh-in inside a pavilion?

Meeting at events, weigh-in at a convenient meeting during the week?

--- These have the advantage of being able to include the not-inconsiderable-in-numbers Cynaguan WW contingent...

Off-site weekly meeting (Sewing night 6:30 to 7?, my house on Thursday evenings ditto)?

Or, at Etain suggests, taking over one of the El Cerrito Plaza meetings?

I'm up for any of these...
