Today was the last lesson in the skating course I took, so I was a little sad, because I won’t be able to take the follow-up course in which they’re going to do basic figure skating, so finally some more advanced stuff ( Read more... )

figure skating, moscow, ice skating, shopping, russia, johnny weir

Johnny AND ice-cream AND Eliot?! Those are like, all of the loves of my life in one sitting! ;)

I agree about the quad thing (I also think it's the same problem for Steph and the triple axel).

Your jeans sound pretty.

I totally get what you said about the confidence. I mean, I don't feel beautiful or glowy, but I think I've become less preoccupied with other people's opinions (especially people that don't matter). Part of it is you wonderful people, and then Johnny as well. I was introduced to Johnny Weir during a time when I had critics left right and center, and well...they can eat it, end of story. :D

and aldfkjdslfkslfs! Moscow!!!! So excited for you. :D

Yes. The fic was a LOT of fun to write, hehe. :D

Yeah. Though didn't Stéphane say that part of the problem was his take off and that they were working on a new way? But you're probably right and the most part really is in his head. Isn't he going to St. Petersburg before Worlds to train with Mishin a little? (I think I read it somewhere.)

Part of it is you wonderful people, and then Johnny as well.
See, the boy is actually good influence for once! Usually, he's just bad. ;)
And yes, you wonderful people help a lot. <3

Haha, I can't believe that it's so close. I don't really have the time to get excited/nervous. (Or I haven't had it yet.)

How you talk about skating is so much fun to read even though I can't actually do any of that. XD

Yay for the whole "who cares" attitude. It can only help, I think! I still have those moments when I'm nervous about the surroundings, but for the most part I can just ignore whatever a bunch of random strangers may think on the street. It's such a good feeling.

Is it? Lol. Just wait, you'll get annoyed by it in a few weeks. ;)
I can't actually do any of that. XD - what's stopping you from learning?

It is a good feeling, yes, but it's sometimes hard to get over yourself and your silly worries.

Well...not knowing how to start, probably. But I've been thinking about it!

Exactly. Sometimes it's way too hard to stop worrying about little things.

Well, well, well. *pushes glasses up her nose* When in doubt, consult the library. Or, in our case, the internet. There's this really useful article on the basics and more.
;) There's also videos on the internet and such.

But where do you live?(you don't have to tell me, it's a rhetorical question;)) There might be courses for adult skaters. I know there are some in Prague and I think... Liberec? A friend of mine did research.:) Chances are that they'll have skating classes in your town, if it's not completely small and if it has a rink.

What are three jumps? I haven't heard of those, but I'm thinking they're something that we call something else here.

I'm not sure exactly, either, I just heard about them from jelliclekat - they're like waltz jumps, only you take off and land on the same foot, kinda like a jumping three turn?

Is the take-off backward or forward?

I have no idea. I'll have to inquire about the details first. (But I think forward - I think she said she can't do backward threes yet, so I assume that would also apply to any backward jumping threes.;))

today I have practice also, interesting what will we do, hope not salchow, lol, I don't like it, toe loop is much better 8)
