Caught in the Rain Trope Let me just say before we begin, that I think rain in film/tv shows/books whatever is a wonderful metaphor. I think the reason for that is that it can convey so many emotions, good and bad. So…yeah…that’s my reasoning. These scenes I’ve picked are all romance scenes in one way or another but did you really expect anything different from me? Hope you enjoy!

Paul and Holly; Breakfast At Tiffany’s
“Where’s the cat?”
“I don’t know.”
The climax of the film when Paul watches as Holly searches frantically for Cat. Cat comes back, Paul and Holly embrace and their love for each other is declared with a kiss. I love this film. Audrey is just fantastic.
---
Albert and Victoria; The Young Victoria
“We will take care of each other, won’t we?”
“Always.”
You can just feel the love can’t you? I have to say, I saw this film for the first time a few weeks ago and I’ve completely fallen in love with it. It’s visually gorgeous and the romance is epic.
---
Damon and Elena; The Vampire Diaires
“We’ve gotta get in there!”
“I know.”
“We can’t let them hurt him! We’ve gotta get him out of there!”
“I know! Elena, I know.”
Words cannot really describe this scene. Even if they are talking about Stefan, the chemistry between the two of them is just explosive. It’s hands down, one of my favourite Damon/Elena scenes. Nevermind the fact that Ian Somerhalder looks truly scrumptious in the rain…
---
Lizzie and Darcy; Pride & Prejudice
“From the first moment I met you, your arrogance and conceit, your selfish distain for the feelings of others, made me realise that you are the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.”
What is a Jane Austen novel without a trope or two? And this one is definitely one of my favourite scenes. Matthew McFadden leaves me a bit hot and bothered every time I watch it - look at those eyes! He’s just so…uhm…*swoon*
---
Jim and Melinda; Ghost Whisperer
“There’s a trick to it.”
Everyone wants a husband like Jim. Seriously. This fictional character is the standard that all husbands should meet. This is the ‘scene’ (it’s a flashback) in which Jim and Melinda officially meet and technically have their first date. It’s adorable.
---
Noah and Allie; The Notebook
“Why didn't you write me? Why? It wasn't over for me, I waited for you for seven years. But now it's too late.”
“I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you everyday for a year.”
“You wrote me?”
“Yes... it wasn't over, it’s still not over.”
Seriously? Do I even need to explain this one?
