we have a 30 year old Kenmore.

We are likely to get another Kenmore as that is one of the ones recommended to us by our handyman.

Good luck -- you have my sincerest empathy. I cannot imagine trying to function with a toddler in the house and no working washer.

The Felds are our saviors. We have done so much laundry at their house that we may as well just camp out in their laundry room.

(correction, Seth has done so much laundry in their house...I refuse to lug it down there!)

From what they tell me, you have been *their* saviors in terms of after-school child care. Neighbors who are friends are wonderful things; it's one reason why we're hoping to move out of Rockville, where we don't really know anyone except the tenants who live with us (though they have certainly saved our tails a few times, and probably vice versa).

nah... we've only taken Aaron once or twice after school, and it's reallly not such a big deal-- for the most part, he's self-entertaining.
