She stepped off the scale, disappointed. Even though she had lost weight it did not feel like a victory. Everything she achieved, every pound she lost, every "new" number on the scale she had seen before. This captures the pain and frustration of dieting so well! I especially liked the first paragraph, with every "new" number also being a reminder of failure.

Ugh, weight loss. I hate the cycle but feed into it constantly. Very well written.
