Art!

Okay, so randomly, a few weeks ago, I got the urge to draw Maxime's mother, of all people. Don't ask me why, because I really have no clue myself. I haven't been able to post the drawing until now, for lack of a working scanner, but now I'd like the post it in four versions and see which of them you prefer. (I am myself rather indecisive, so ( Read more... )

Thanks, I like them quite a bit too. I might, at that. But there's not really any rhyme or reason to my drawing, so if I do, I wouldn't expect it to be soon.

I'm relieved Obama won, but I won't say I was certain of it ahead of time.

Gah, your icon! :O

Ooooh, sweet. I like version 3 the most for some reason...I dunno, I just kind of like the softer coloring. :D And I can tell a resemblance to Maxime, too.

Aaah, thank god Obama won.

Okay, thanks. Interestingly, you're the only person (other than me) to really like that one so far. I'm glad she resembles Maxime--I was trying for that, obviously.

Yes, definitely!

I'm glad we can see arts from you. I like to see arts

I like all versions, maybe the last one is the best for me.
Interesting, you drew Maxime's mother. I'm sure of that, I would have asked you why you drew her with blond hair, if you hadn't written the cause.
As far as I concerned I imagined her with brown hairXD....I would be curious her real hair color..

Thank you.

I'm not sure why I drew her; it just happened that way, I suppose. There are really no wrong answers when it comes to Maxime's mother's hair color, because no one currently living knows what it was and there are no extant portraits of her.

Charlotte seems to have had brown hair and blue-green eyes; maelicia's posted a color picture of her somewhere around, if you're interested.

...commenting now... >.>

In the first, she looks like a ghostly apparition. But the fourth is better obviously, the colours are clearer.

I can see the resemblance with Maxime with the angle of her cheek and chin, a bit.

Why the pink/red just under her eyes though?

Oh, I was just trying to make her look kind of gaunt and fatigued there. But ghostly apparition is appropriate too; after all, she has been dead for nearly a quarter millenium now.

I'm glad, because that was intentional. Her eyes are also green. ^_^

She's supposed to be blushing--though I don't really remember why. I'm thinking maybe when I was drawing it I had intended it to be set before her marriage, which might explain it--and the air of vulnerability I was trying to give her. :/
