I've had laryngitis since Thursday. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO TALK SINCE THURSDAY. I'm starting to freak out. I'm really not much of a talker, but when you can't talk at all, for days on end, it starts to get a little weird. I take a little notebook and pen with me, in case I have to say something ( Read more... )

:( I hope you feel better soon. I'm the exact opposite, I talk all the time and drive people nuts, so it would be weird not to talk. The only "cure" I've ever heard of is drinking your own urine, so I'm not much of a help. Supposedly it's a sure-fire cure, but I don't think I could ever do that.

lmfao--that would be the cure. I guess I'll pass. Haha...

I've had laryngitis before, but only for a couple days. It was odd though that I was really sick and had my voice, but when I got to feeling better is when I lost it. I felt fine, but no voice. Hope yours returns soon.

I had a mild cold on Thursday and was in the first grade. It required a lot of reading out loud and talking in front of the class and by the time I got home, my voice was gone. I haven't spoken since. I'm also feeling better, but my voice won't come back. It's the weirdest feeling, not being able to talk.

Meep! OMG

Well I'm ten years late, but now that I have my laptop back I thought I should go back over the entries I've missed and eep, my poor Wendyyy was sick!

So is it sore like tonsilitis or just a strange loss off voice when you get laryngitis?

This has been a nightmare. I was totally without a voice for 8 days. I still have a really rough voice and lose it off and on. I sound like Marge Simpson's sisters, Patty and Selma. :| It's been over a month like this. The doctor says I have chronic laryngitis and I need to go to an ENT to see if I have nodes on my vocal chords. I do not like doctors, so I haven't gone, but it's a nightmare teaching school. My voice is just not strong enough to lecture, yet I still keep going. I have a two day job starting tomorrow in the 2nd grade. School's out in 3 weeks and I'm trying to make money while I still can.

To answer you question, it started out as the worst pain ever--like a vege peeler on my vocal chords...but that lasted only a few days. I'm going on week five and it isn't painful now, just a monumental pain in the ass.

Oh, wow, I had hoped you'd be all better by now!

And if it weren't for all the talk about nodes, I'd be thinking of your husky sexy voice ;)
