At the Hilton SF Union Square all week for a software developer conference; I have three major gripes so far:
NO bicycle parking in the Hilton garage.
Only 16.66% of the panelists are women.
OPERATIONALIZE is NOT a word, people!!!

Something tells me it never occurred to the Hilton that any of their guests might be riding a bicycle. I wonder if they have bike parking for their staff?
What are your industry numbers like for women in software development? I ask because some of our science departments a few years ago were trying to work out why they weren't getting more female candidates and then realized the numbers were in proportion to how many people were in their field. The university as a result put a bunch of money in to scholarships for female graduate students.
I HATE that sort of vocabulary with a passion.

And I have no idea what the numbers are right now in STEM, but I hear they are dropping. That's good news about your university.

Ah, cool. We don't have any such laws over here. If that's the law, I suspect they might have them tucked away somewhere in a staff area or do they have to be available to the public?
They've also started increasing the number of summer courses for female high school students interested in the sciences.

We have a women in STEM program at my company but it's not for hiring, it's for cultivating youth at universities, and it's very feeble.

Your industry needs more women just to have a better vocabulary.
