life: health care shouldn't be a pipe dream

I did my volunteer work today for Project Homeless Connect. And where do you suppose they stick the nerd volunteers but in data entry? So for five hours I input registrations. And after hours of putting in data you start to notice trends. There are always a large variety of services offered: employment counseling, legal services, shelter ( Read more... )

When I was working for the Health Dept. I learned so much about how difficult it was for so many people who didn'thave insurance. There were times when I didn't have any myself but luckily didn't have any major needs at the time. And I shudder to think what it would have been like when my husband had cancer if we hadn't had insurance.

It's simply ridiculous that they think it would somehow be detrimental to the country to provide everyone with access to health care. Romney mentioned how our status isn't the same in the rest of the world as it used to be -- huh, here's an idea, this might raise our status more than "business" would. They just won't admit that certain factions would no longer rake in the profits if they helped people get basic health care.
