This week I finally got around to making my own headdress! It's been a long time coming - I came up with the plan for it about a month or so ago, I got most of the materials around the same time but I ordered the lace on an ebay shop and it arrived while I was away in England, so I've been itching to get on with making it!!
It's the first thing I've ever really made for myself. I dived in head-first not knowing what the heck I was doing, but with a bit of advice and a lot of encouragement from my dear friend
flokati-san, I managed to figure it all out.
I admittedly cannot sew to save my life, (my gran was great at sewing, my aunt was great at sewing, her two daughters are also great at it... something bypassed me and my mum!) so I'm very proud of this, and I might say a little amazed at myself! It's turned out exactly how I wanted it, and I didn't think that would be possible by my hands! ^_^
It still needs a ribbon to tie it to the head, only half-way through making it did I realise I hadn't got any of the right width [fail] but that's a quick job that can be easily fixed when I go out and buy some tomorrow.
I also realised after taking the photo that the one tail of the ribbon was a wee bit longer than the other, but that's been fixed now :)
And with Super Snoopy™, to show the scale.
I have a few more ideas up my sleeve, and now I'm confident that I can realise them!
